Snapchat Streak (aka Snapstreak) marks how many days you’ve sent a picture or video to your friends in a row. It keeps a count of the days you have shared media with your friends; if you skip sending media for a single day, you lose your Streak!
In other words, you can consider Snapstreak as a method to attract users to visit Snap at least once every day. Snapchat Streak is one of the most addictive features of this app. It also adds to the app’s popularity.
But how can you create a streak? What if you forget to send a streak? Can you restore a streak?
You must be having various questions regarding Snapstreak. But don’t worry. This guide covers everything about Snapchat Streak. Scroll below to keep reading!
What Are Snapchat Streaks – Meaning?
Snapchat Streaks is the count that mentions how many days in a row you’ve sent a photo or video to a particular day.
This feature encourages users to keep visiting Snap every day. Suppose a user skips sending a Snapstreak for 24 hours; the Streak breaks. The user then has to start another streak.
A streak begins when you send an image or video to a friend for three consecutive days. An active streak is marked using the fire emoji next to the contact’s name.
If you see a fire emoji next to a friend’s name, you have an active streak with that person. Next to the emoji, you’ll also find the number of streaks.
Besides, you can create as many streaks as you want with your friends. Also, there is no restriction on the number of friends that can make a streak with you.
What Happens After 100 Streaks on Snapchat?
When you complete 100 streaks on Snapchat, you will see the 💯 emoji instead of the fire emoji next to your friend’s name. This symbol marks 100 days of maintaining a streak with your friend. However, the symbol will be replaced with the fire emoji from day 101.
Snapchat Will Now Enable Users to Restore Snap Streaks
If your heart breaks whenever you or your friend misses a streak, and the streaks you’ve created disappear, here is some excellent news.
Snapchat is testing a new feature that allows users to restore streaks. This will show the exact Streak count as it was before the day you missed a streak.
You can restore your streaks by clicking the Restore button, and your streaks will return. The restore streak feature is excellent for users who frequently forget to maintain streaks.
But here’s the catch! Snapchat’s Streak restore feature allows only a free single snap streak restore. For more restores, users need to purchase additional restores from the store, which costs $0.99 per restore.
How Do I Get Snapchat Streak Back?
Until now, it wasn’t possible to get back a Snapchat streak after breaking it. But now Snapchat has released a new feature that allows users to restore their streaks. This restore function will show the Streak count as before it broke.
To restore a streak, click the Restore button next to the friend’s name. This button will appear only if you’ve recently broken the Streak. Otherwise, you’ll need to submit a request to Snapchat’s support team to restore your Streak.
Again, remember that you get only one free snap streak to restore. You’ll need to purchase a restore from the in-app store for additional restores.
How to Pause Your Snap Streaks?
You can not yet pause your Snap Streaks. However, Snap has hinted that it will release a new Freeze feature to allow users to pause Snap Streaks.
This feature will let users pause their streaks when they know they won’t be able to maintain them for a few days. Users can then start sending streaks after returning.
What is the Maximum Streak on Snapchat?
The Snapchat Streak count is the number of days a user sends snaps to their friend. This number is displayed next to the fire emoji beside the contact’s name. As of February 2023, the maximum number of streaks are recorded by Grace and Elly, which counts 2839+.
How Does Snapchat Streak Break
A Streak breaks when you or your friend misses sending a snap within 24 hours. A Streak is a count that marks how many days you consecutively send a snap to a friend. If you miss a single day, the Streak breaks, and you must start all over.
However, from March 2023, Snapchat is testing a new feature that allows users to restore streaks without losing them. So, you don’t have to worry when you miss sending a snap for one day to a friend.
Snapchat Streak Rules 2023
Snapchat has straightforward rules for creating and maintaining Streaks. You only have to ensure that you and your friend send a snap to each other every day.
Do not skip a single day. Other rules to keep in mind while using Snapchat streaks are as follows:
- Remember that a chat is not counted as a streak. You must send a video or photo to maintain a streak with your friend.
- Stories are not counted as a Streak. So, if you share a story with your friend, it won’t be considered a Streak.
- If you share a memory with a friend, it won’t be considered a Streak.
- You must send a snap individually to your friend to maintain a Streak. Snaps sent in bulk or to groups won’t be counted as a Streak.
Snapchat Streak Recovery Form
Earlier, Snapchat didn’t allow users to restore their broken Streaks. However, if you have missed a Streak since you didn’t have access to your phone, you can restore it by contacting Snapchat’s support team.
You need to fill out the Snapchat Recovery Form on the Snapchat support page. This form will ask for your personal details and how you lost the Streak. The snapchat support team will verify your details and restore your Streaks if they find your reason genuine.
Snapchat Streak Timer
Snapchat displays a Snapstreak Timer, denoted by ⌛ symbol next to the contact’s name to indicate that your time for sending the Streak to your friend is almost over.
If you see a snap streak timer next to your friend’s name, you have only 4 hours left to send a snap to that friend. If that time gets over, your Streak will break.
How Does Snapchat Streak Timer Work
The Snapchat Streak Timer appears next to your friend’s name on Snap to indicate that your Streak is about to end. If you don’t want your Streak to expire, send a snap immediately.
The Snapchat Streak Timer appears when four or fewer hours remain before your Streak expires. It is denoted by the hourglass (⌛) symbol.
If you see the Snapchat Streak Timer’s symbol next to your friend list, immediately send a snap, or you’ll lose the Streak.
Snapchat Streak Ideas
There is no special requirement to begin a Snapstreak with your friend. You only have to look for people willing to create streaks with you and start sending them snaps daily.
Below are a few tips to make your Snapchat streaks more exciting:
- If you lack ideas for sending snaps, take a blank photo and add captions to the image before sending it.
- Choose a specific time in the day to send snaps. This way, you will not forget to send a Streak, and you can maintain it for a long time.
- You can set a reminder on any reminder app on your mobile phone to remind you to send a snap every day.
- If you forget to send a snap and your Streak expires, contact the support team using the recovery form to restore the Streak immediately.
- Send snaps to your friends individually and not in groups.
